What We're About
SANDIEGOANGLICANS.com is a web portal established to support and aid in the substantial and diverse efforts surrounding the Anglican realignment in greater San Diego. It is the mission of this web site to encourage, support, and raise the visibility of a growing list of orthodox Anglican churches, ministries, and people. These groups and individuals are typically identified as more traditional and orthodox and are nearly all aligned formally with active, intra-Anglican networks such as those which make up Common Cause Partners.
This site considers itself a very close friend and neighbor to westernanglicans.org, the official web site of the Anglican realignment in the western United States.
The Current Unpleasantness
Since the 2003 General Convention of The Episcopal Church (TEC), a not insignificant number of local priests and congregations have opted to leave the Episcopal Diocese of San Diego over crucial matters of doctrine and Biblical authority. This local exodus of orthodox parishes from The Episcopal Church reflects a trend nationwide, and is symptomatic of a crisis in the global communion which is currently unresolved.
How "the current unpleasantness," as it is often referred to, in the local, national, and global Anglican church will resolve itself is the subject of several popular Anglican blog sites, which have been "mashed up" or compiled into a single feed here on this web site, for your convenience.
