change is coming

Busted

Turns out we're not imagining things after all (and yes, it's largely "Yes on 8" signs being stolen).

News 8 :: KFMB Stations, San Diego, California

Authorities announced a second arrest today in connection with the thefts of election signs from North County roadsides.

Officers responding to a report of someone removing pro-Proposition 8 placards from in front of Olympic Resort on El Camino Real arrested Vernon Tisdall, 31, on Thursday afternoon, police spokeswoman Lynn Diamond said.

If you lose a sign, call the police (not 911, obviously) even if you don't expect them to pursue it.  The calls still get logged and it helps identify patterns.  Petty theft is still theft.

North Park / University Heights is full of bumper-stickered volvo station wagons w/ freshly-stolen "Yes on 8" signs piled in the back seat (the bumper stickers suggest they are not advocates of prop 8). Maybe I'll post some pictures from my walks.

A friend gave me a "Yes on 8" sign last night [10-29-08] after choir practice.  I put it out when I got home [Eastern Poway] at about 8:30PM.  When I left for work at 7:30 this am it was gone!

That was faster than I thought it would be!
