Sir Elton John on Prop 8. His Words, Not Mine
As much as I would like to be done on this blog with the topics of prop 22 and prop 8, it is clear this fight will be with us, especially in California, for some time. If it's a fight they want, then it's a fight they will get (only the weapons will be different). Holy Matrimony is a sacrament, plain and simple. As such, it is non-negotiable.
Even Sir Elton John, while very much for gay unions, understands that the gay fight for "marriage" is probably a BIG mistake. His words, not mine...
Elton John: Where Prop 8 went wrong - USATODAY.com
NEW YORK — Elton John, accompanied by his longtime partner, David Furnish, had some choice words about California's Proposition 8, the ban on same-sex marriage that passed on Nov. 4.
In December 2005, John and Furnish tied the knot in a civil partnership ceremony in Windsor, England. But, clarified the singer, "We're not married. Let's get that right. We have a civil partnership. What is wrong with Proposition 8 is that they went for marriage. Marriage is going to put a lot of people off, the word marriage."
John and Furnish, and their two cocker spaniels, Marilyn and Arthur, were in town for Tuesday's annual benefit for the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
"I don't want to be married. I'm very happy with a civil partnership. If gay people want to get married, or get together, they should have a civil partnership," John says. "The word 'marriage,' I think, puts a lot of people off.
"You get the same equal rights that we do when we have a civil partnership. Heterosexual people get married. We can have civil partnerships."

Prop 8: The Musical is disgusting!
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I have watched Proposition 8: The Musical tonight.
I find the musical distasteful, disgusting and appalling.
The liberal media wants all to believe by pushing the idea that Christians are no good. The liberal media are blaming the Christians for taking away the rights of the gay citizens of California. That is not true at all. The Christians took a stand for Jesus. They did what is right.
---There is no such thing as civil rights for personal choices.
---The gays do not want to be accountable to God for their sins.
---They are malicious, militant and hateful in spreading such mindless
filth.
---They are totally disgusting in preaching HATE in this production.
---They are not serving God, but they are serving Satan.
